As a child, I had a unique fascination with dolls and cosmetics. I would spend hours adorning my toy dolls with makeup, experimenting with different looks, and reveling in the creativity it allowed me. However, growing up in South Korea, where the prevailing beauty standard emphasizes fair white skin, I couldn't help but notice that the dolls I owned and the ones available in local markets were all remarkably pale. It was during these years that I began to question the narrow definition of beauty. As I grew older, I found myself increasingly drawn to the world of cosmetics. Yet, when I attempted to find foundation shades that matched my own skin tone, I encountered a frustrating lack of options in Korea's cosmetic market. This discrepancy between the beauty ideals ingrained in society and the limited diversity in available products fueled my passion to create my own cosmetics brand. I was determined to offer a range of products that celebrated the beauty of all skin tones, backgrounds, and expressions, reflecting the rich diversity I knew existed in the world. Thus, my journey began, and it's a journey I'm excited to share with you through G.L.O Beauty, where inclusivity, creativity, and self-expression take center stage.
